After the good experience at Tarbush Restaurant, my Middle East food cravings lead me to Tajine Restaurant at Bukit Bintang. The competitiveness of Middle East Restaurant at Bukit Bintang area is fierce, as a few of them are located next to each other just oposite of Lot10 shopping mall. All the shops had a waiter standing just outside the shop, trying to pull in as many customer as they can. However, they normally just target people from Middle East, and normally won’t bother us Malaysians if you walk past.

Tajine Restaurant serves Arabic Moroccan and Lebanese cuisine, and only have 1 outlet in Malaysia. The interior design is Middle East style, and have a few of interesting painting there.

Baba Ghanuj @ RM12. It’s grilled and mashed eggplant with tomatoes garlic and olive oil. It’s very refreshing eating it, and you can go it with the nan if you wish.

Biryani Lamb @ RM24. Another biryani rice that came with huge portion. The biryani rice is just average, and it taste very different from the one at Tarbush. The one at Tarbush Restaurant is like fried curry rice, but this one is more like normal rice cooked with herbs and spice. I find that it’s lack of some taste that biryani rice should have, but I don’t know what it is.

Besides, although the lamb is very tender, but again, it’s lack of taste. It’s really lacking of something, as it taste way too bland.

Overall, I find that dining at Tajine is quite relax especially in a busy area like Bukit Bintang. However, since I only tried 1 main dish this time, I might give them another chance in the future to see what more can they offer. For now, just an average place to dine.
